This picture shows two Earthlike planets,   It is interesting to think what it would have been like if our Moon had an atmosphere, and life,  as Earth does. If people evolved there as well, we would have been very aware of each others existence. The age old question  "are we alone in the universe"  would have been answered  centuries ago. Would we have treated our neighboring world as something to be exploited and subdued ? friends or enemies? Such a scenario has probably been / is played out many times  throughout   the universe.   In reality this close pairing would probably be unlikely as  the 2 planets would  collide  fairly early in their existence.
