This painting was an exercise in Surrealism, with no real basis in fact. as the large moon is probably already too close and would probably collide with the planet.    The people seen here are visitors maybe on holiday, perhaps even aliens would partake of this Earthly pastime!  The nice dark green sky pays testament to  to the violence of the cosmos, with the shattered bodies  of moons hanging overhead. The large satellite seen here with great gouges in its surface, would probably collapse into a smaller body.
