| NEPTUNE RISING |
![]() |
Distant Neptune rises above the frozen
crescent of Triton. The planet rotates in about 16 hours. Temperatures at
the cloud tops reaches a low of -220˚ C. It orbits the Sun in 164 years,
and rotates in 16 hours. Remarkably this planet is also warmer than it
should be at this distance from the Sun. This, a likely cause of the dynamic
weather systems observed in the Voyager images. A dark blue oval shaped
region of high pressure was seen, as were Cirrus type clouds, at several
locations in the atmosphere, which is composed mainly Hydrogen & Helium,
with traces of Methane. PAINTING DIMENSIONS: 75 x 35.43cm,
29.42 x 14.43ins (acrylic on canvas) bounded by a thin black wood frame PRICE : $450.00 AUD |
