Ice cliffs

Another ice planet, the Jade green ice seen here is infused with algae, which will flow away in the spring thaw, which is well under way, as can be seen in the melting sea in the distance. The winter on this world can last up to 3 years, due to the highly eccentric orbit. Long very cold winters are followed by lengthy springs and short and very hot summers, where temperatures can exceed 50˚ C. The autumn here can be quite pleasant, followed once again by a very long and harsh winter.
