This painting depicts a view of the   Mother planet viewed  from      the lunar northern hemisphere.  This view could be attained if the observer was using a telephoto lens,  hence the planet appears much larger than it should.    The layered  atmosphere is composed mainly of Nitrogen & Oxygen.  There is also a dense magnetic field that protects the surface from harmful  rays that  come in from its Sun and beyond.  This field is the result of the dynamo effect generated by the circulating molten metal  interior.  The planets surface is  covered mainly with water.   Various environmental types  are also represented here; mountainous, forested, various types of desert and  watery environments.  All areas support  thriving   ecosystems.  Indeed the Oxygen  is mostly the result of photosynthesis
